DTN COMMENTS:  A few deals have been reported in parts of Texas at $185, 
$1 higher than last week's weighted averages. Some asking prices remain 
firm around $186 to $187 in that area, and are around $297-plus in the 
North. While packer inquiry should continue to improve as the day 
progresses, it is very possible that a more significant trade could be 
delayed until Friday. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 296.93 +0.26, select 286.70 -
1.55), with generally light box movement (39.44 lds of choice cuts, 10.24 
lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 10.12 lds of ground). Cattle 
futures near the top of the noon hour are mostly moderately lower on both 
live and feeder contracts.
